Are we fit for the future? ...

Paul Morrell OBE is the Chief Construction Adviser to HM Government tasked with a huge remit to make 'Zero-Carbon' a reality ...

Speaking to Construction News reporter Nick Whitten during an exclusive interview at the end of 2009 Paul Morrell said ...
"the Chief Construction Adviser role achieves its power through its independent status" ...

Paul delivered an important pivotal presentation at ECOBUILD 2010 sponsored by the CIOB ...

Oh yes, all the "old" challenges remain ~

  • people, training, respect, diversity, equality
  • health and safety
  • service / product development
  • quality, design, execution
  • investment
  • intergration
  • etc. etc. ...
The primary driver for change is 'Zero-Carbon' and is now a matter of law ... "which is a fact not fully appreciated by many" says Paul ... the task ahead is simply massive ...

Paul explains that the law sets out the criteria for change in terms of:

  • to what, by what, and when!
... this is all about industry improvement ~ the future!

Paul asks "what kind of world do you want then?"

His role is to access, identify and recommend ... and he admits that we probably know the plan to achieve the 34% reduction of carbon emissions by 2022 ... but we have no idea how to get to the declared 80% reduction by 2050 yet! ...

Please take your time to watch this interesting thought provoking message from Paul ...
