.... I heard an interesting statistic the other day that certain cities in Australia have a death record of Zero, ZIP, nothing, nought, 0 which I do find amazing...
....and whilst we tend to focus on the death list for the UK I wonder how many serious incidents we can collect on CDM2007.org that will allow us to think about improving our performance and safety records just by reading a blog site.
I was led to think about this recently when the executive team had a lunch meeting with of the construction news editors and we were discussing this very subject... so I wanted to start a list of our readers 'Near Misses' which we will follow up for a future article or series of articles on what we learn from these near accidents or.... near death experiences.
