What does I.S.S. mean?

  • In simple terms it says “I’m Site Safe!”
  • The Health and Safety Executive [HSE] in Scotland have produced outline material that is considered essential that every organisation or person who controls or manages any construction should provide to all persons who may need to venture onto the construction site
  • The online Complimentary I.S.S. Courseware is provided by CDM2007.org and is a multi-media presentation taken from the HSE Site Safe Scotland material
  • The I.S.S. Card is documentary proof that the person identified on the Card has viewed the I.S.S. Courseware


What the law requires

  • All who control or manage construction sites have a duty to ensure that all persons who come onto their sites are kept safe and properly understand the hazards that may exist and understand all the policies and procedures in place at the site
  • The new CDM2007 Regulations require all duty holders to be competent to undertake their legal duties
  • No person or organisation who is a duty holder under the new CDM2007 Regulations shall appoint or engage any person or organisation who is not competent
  • All duty holders must be able to prove they are competent

 
Validity of the I.S.S. Card

  • The validity of the I.S.S. Card under CDM2007.org ceases immediately upon any person failing to maintain their registration and to keep a minimum login to the website to update on news at least monthly
  • Individuals who have successfully completed the I.S.S. course on CDM2007.org will be automatically Registered on their transcript record and eligible to purchase an I.S.S. Card
  • The decision of CDM2007.org is final
